Lulu Moppet first appeared in 1935 as a single cartoon panel character created by Marjorie Henderson Buell (December 11, 1904–May 30, 1993).
First published cartoon was in The Saturday Evening Post on February 23, 1935 (Little Lulu replaced for Henry by Carl Anderson,). Little Lulu panel ran weekly in The Saturday Evening Post until December 30, 1944.
The Little Lulu comic strip began June 5, 1950 and ran through May 1969. The comic book Marge's Little Lulu began in 1948. Work on the comic book was done primarily by John Stanley and Irving Tripp.
