Detective Comics #447 Creeper cover by Dick Giordano

DC Comics May 1975

This was the penultimate part of the mid-seventies "Bat-Murderer" series in which writer Len Wein tried to resurrect some of the antinomian aspects of the original Batman. The series started off with Wein and Jim Aparo working together with a police-dodging Batman, but relaxed into the more predictable storyline of a highly-cooperative Batman as a pillar (though with one foot outside of the courthouse) of the Gotham legal establishment. Ernie Chua (aka Ernie Chan) took over art with issue 447 from Aparo.
