Jack "Jaxon" Jackson

May 15, 1941 June 8, 2006

Underground cartoonist who concentrated on historical work in his later career.

Commanche Moon by Jack Jackson

Jackson's resolve to create legitimate historical work was achieved with Comanche Moon and Los Tejanos, and using a medium often (and justifiably) regarded as too prurient for 'serious' efforts. Not many comic book artists have aimed toward such heights. Both books hold up as entertainment, infused with Jackson's humor, the books at times get very dense and require some dedication.

Amazon has "Jack Jackson's American History: Los Tejanos & Lost Cause" in a single volume.
