Freedom Fighters

AKA Uncle Sam and The Freedom Fighters

Freedom Fighters Issue 1

Cover art by Dave Johnson

Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters originally appeared as individual characters (such as Uncle Sam, The Human Bomb, Miss America, Phantom Lady, Doll Man, Black Condor, etc) belonging to Quality Comics, which existed between 1939 and 1956. DC Comics eventually purchased the Quality Comics assets, though a number of Quality Comics characters fell into public domain.
