Avatar Sequels coming
James Cameron decamped to New Zealand years ago when he made the original Avatar (World gross of $2.782 billion). Cameron now has 3 sequels lined up to shoot in New Zealand after the government there came up with a tax rebate scheme to cut costs for the making of the proposed films.

The usual rumours say the film will have a budget above $200 million and is supposed to be the first of a string of sequels that will appear once a year. The first sequel ("Episode VII") is supposed to come out in December 2015, so they're going to have to get moving if if Disney has any chance of getting the film made in time.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" moves dates
Now aiming for July 11, 2014, the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which made $480 million worldwide, is dodging the later July sci-fi Jupitar Ascending and the Dwayne Johnson Hercules. On July 11, Dawn will be competing with Fast & Furious 7.
